Young Stracke All-Stars

Young Stracke All Stars

The Young Stracke All-Stars are a group of young musicians, ages 9 to 13, who play to serve as an inspiration to young musicians and their families and who build a bridge between legendary figures like Carl Sandburg and Woody Guthrie and the youth of today.  They are named after Win Stracke, Chicago television and music personality, who founded the Old Town School in 1957.   The Young Stracke All-Stars are a performance level group who have played sets of music at the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Taste of Chicago, and Wicker Park Fest.  The group has shared the stage with Ella Jenkins and Dan Zanes and have opened for the Chicago Shakespeare Company and the Midnight Circus.
