The Young Stracke All-Stars, lead by Jason McInnes, are a group of young musicians, ages 9 to 13, who play to serve as an inspiration to young musicians and their families. The band is named after Win Stracke, Chicago television and music personality, who founded the Old Town School of Folk Music in 1957. The Young Stracke All-Stars use Win’s inspiration to build a bridge between legendary figures like Carl Sandburg and Woody Guthrie and the youth of today.
The Young Stracke All-Stars have played sets of music at the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Taste of Chicago, and Wicker Park Fest. The group has shared the stage with Ella Jenkins and Dan Zanes and have opened for the Chicago Shakespeare Company and the MidnightCircus.
